Intro to Growing Food

Are you brand new to gardening, and have a desire to learn how to produce some of your own food? This class is designed to help the beginning gardener start to grow some of their own food. We will focus on learning on supplimenting our grocery bill using organic gardening methods. 

Why is this class in the fall, aren't summers for gardening? The fall garden is a great place to start for new gardeners! There is less pest pressure, there are fewer weeds, things tend to grow slower, and the weather is nice. It allows you time to develop your skills before the hectic nature of summer kicks in.  

We will cover types of produce, seasons of growing (what grows when), basics of plant development, and what do to with your harvest. We hope this sparks a love of food gardening!

Advanced Registration is required. One of the missions of Ardani Farm is to make learning accessible. This class is a "pay what you can" class to make sure that knowledge which assists with food security is available to all. The suggested payment is $15, but we don't want someone to miss out on this opportunity if they can't afford the fee. 

Sustainability is important for everyone, not just those who can afford expensive classes (may be especially critical for those who can't). If you're in a financial position to contribute a bit more to help us to keep our classes low cost or free to those in need, it is always appreciated.
