About the event
Join Ardani Farm and Trista Imrich, from Southern Branch Nursery, for an inspiring conversation about native plants on horse properties.
More horse owners are looking for ways to improve their land without compromising safety—but it’s not always clear where native plants fit into the picture.
In this session, we’ll walk through practical, real-world strategies for incorporating native plants into horse properties, including track systems, pasture edges, and buffer zones. We’ll cover what plants are safe (and which to avoid), how to design for mud and water management, and ways to use native plantings to improve soil health, reduce maintenance, and create more resilient landscapes over time.
We’ll also talk through how to thoughtfully include ecologically important species—even when they aren’t horse-safe—using layout, fencing, and access strategies that protect both horses and plantings.
This session is geared toward horse owners and land managers who want to make meaningful improvements without overcomplicating the process.
